Fuso

When the team at TK Digital approached me to create a CG promo video for their client’s (Mitsubishi Fuso) trade show, they had an extremely aggressive delivery schedule of just over 3 weeks. This presented many technical and strategic challenges as we relied on the team in Tokyo to direct the general vision and translate both a language barrier and creative direction.

I assembled a small team, to guide the client and translate Japanese into English. Workflow and pipeline was paramount as we had very little turn around time and were dealing with massive file sizes. The 3D scene files were animated, textured, lit, and rendered using Cinema 4D and required numerous truck models on screen at the same time which bottlenecked and crashed computers and exposed all types of bugs during the rendering process.

The concept of the storyline was that each truck could be customized to any color which presented further challenge. This was achieved using a rendering technique that allowed far more speed and flexibility.
